I have selected PDF as output type and opened the file in the Adobe Reader. When I now want to generate the output, LaTeX fails. What is wrong? Print E-mail

The Adobe Reader openes files with exclusive access: If a file is opened in Adobe Reader, no other application can open this file for writing. You have to close the file in Adobe Reader, before regenerating the output. The shortcut for closing a file in Adobe Reader is [Strg]+[W]. TeXnicCenter can also do this for you automatically via DDE commands.

Read the topic "TeXnicCenter > Configuration > Output Profiles" in the online help to learn how to configure TeXnicCenter to use your viewer.
