Starting with the 1 Beta 7.50 release, TeXnicCenter has a new maintainer for the software development: Tino Weinkauf.

Along with this change we will also change the way of releasing new versions of TeXnicCenter. Over the last years we released the software rather infrequently. Starting summer 2008 we will have at least two releases each year. The amount of new features or fixed bugs may vary with each release, but at least the advancements (even if they are small) are passed on to the community.

TeXnicCenter has been proven to be a stable and useful LaTeX editor. Currently, we have around 40.000 downloads each month. This shows that TeXnicCenter has matured. Therefore, we will also change the labelling of the software regarding its development status. Previously, TeXnicCenter has been labelled as "Beta" software. Until the end of 2008 we will release a stable version of TeXnicCenter which will be based upon the current release 1 Beta 7.50. From that point on, stable releases are meant for the end user's daily work. "Beta" or "Alpha" versions are unstable and should only be used for testing purposes.

We need your input, so please, submit any bugs you may encounter. This will help us to improve the software. You can submit new bugs here:

New developments are on their way, stay tuned.
