In the past, issues like bug reports and feature requests were handled by the several trackers at TeXnicCenter's SourceForge project site. Those trackers are not very comfortable - neither to enter issues nor to search for them.
Since today TeXnicCenter does use JIRA as its issue tracking system!
JIRA is a commercial issue tracker which is used by more than 3,100 organizations in 55 countries. Its clear and beautyful user interface and its flexibility makes it unique on the market of issue tracking tools. Atlassian, the company behind JIRA, supports open source projects by providing this great tool for free to them. This fact and its excellent workflow are the reason, why many open source projects like i.e. several apache projects are using JIRA instead of one of the several open source issue trackers. Yesterday even TeXnicCenter.org has got its free license to use JIRA.
We hope that the new system will make it easier for our users to submit issues while avoiding them to enter duplicates because of the excellent searching possibilities.
You can find the login to the TeXnicCenter issue tracker at
http://www.texniccenter.org/jira
The new 'Issues' link in the quick link bar at the top of each page on the TeXnicCenter site will also bring you there.
But: please be sure to read the rules before submitting any bug reports or feature requests. This will help us all, to get the best out of the new issue tracker and help the developers to do what you want them to do: Fix bugs and implement new features ;-) |
