TeXnicCenter has been developed for Microsoft Windows and is heavily based on windows specific stuff and a lot of third-party-components, which are not available i.e. for Linux. Porting TXC to another OS would be the same as rewriting it up from the scratch and that is definitly not what we plan to do.

Nevertheless, the source code is available and everyone, who is interested in, may take up the work to port it. We will furtheron concentrate on the Windows edition - because also Windows needs good Open-Source-Software, Linux already has enough ;-)
